Norbert Sporer (Dipl.-Ing.)

Norbert Sporer, born in 1968, first studied Electrical Engineering  at the Fachhochschule München with a core focus on "General Electrical Engineering". After successfully graduating he had the opportunity of completing a degree in the area of Automation Engineering at the TU Munich within only four semesters. While studying he was able to further deepen his knowledge as a development engineer at the Institute of Automatic Control Engineering. His excellent theoretical and practical knowledge enabled him to join the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Center.

After a short period he took over responsibility for the development of light-weight robotics and set new standards in robotics with his ideas.

His biggest success has been to bring the results from research into industry.

Together with Matthias Hähnle he founded the company SENSODRIVE as a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in 2003.
