SENSO-Wheel option: Additive Position Control
Testing driver assistance systems functions realistically
This option serves to be able to operate the SENSO-Wheel also in position control mode. The position controland the effects of the SENSO-Wheel normal mode can be superposed and weighted respectively. The option is very frequently used to implement and test driver assistance systems and functions.
The superpositon can be varied with two 8-bit-scaling factors kx=0...200%. For example, kLW=0 and kSW=100 correspond to standard SENSO-Wheel control(SW) without superposed position control(LW).
The absolute steering wheel position is read in by the simulator software and then forwarded as a command to the controller of the SENSO-Wheel (in accordance with standard firmware). The resulting torque, which is forwarded as a command after the calculation of all control loops, can be read. Depending on how stiff the position control should be, the parameters of the internal control loops can be adapted. This can happen via the optional effect parameters, for example.
